Starfield Resources

Resources in Starfield are used to earn credits if you sell them, crafting and upgrading weapons, equipment, mods, building and upgrading Outposts, in gastronomy or chemistry. Resources are also needed in the process of researching.

You can buy almost all types of resources from merchants scattered all over the galaxy, however, it is rather self-collecting that is one of the goals of the game.

Types of Resources

• Inorganic Resources - are the equivalent of elements and chemical compounds, can be harvested from the surfaces of planets and moons, either by hand or by extractors in Outposts, they can be found in chests or you can buy them from Vendors. They can be solid, liquid or gaseous, and they can be toxic;
• Organic Resiurces - are sourced from alien fauna and flora on planets and moons, they can be found in chests or you can buy them from Vendors;
• Manufactured Components - you can craft them, find in chest or buy from vendors.

Tiers of Resources

There are four tiers of resource quality and rarity:
