The Monument
One of the largest active Shaper relics in northern Bastion, the monument is thought to effect ripstream for the entire area. In 344, Arcanists discovered that some of the metal used in the monument was like no other metal yet known, affecting gravity and wind by creating ripstream. In 396, it was discovered that a similar monument existed on the other side of the mountain pass, prompting Arcanists to theorize that the monument is merely the outermost point of a huge interconnected network of Shaper instruments that live underground.
The Drill
If we needed further proof that the Monument and its twin in the Great Expanse were connected, we need look no further than the Drill. Surely this is a tool for excavation? Our own drilling machinery was said to be based on Shaper instruments... would it be such a stretch to believe that we succeeded in our replication of their device? Mentors have said it is foolhardy to try to guess what the ruins and relics were meant for, but this instance seems the exception.

They are not random, the are one-time find and can be collected only once per character. Start new character to recreate them for challenge and trophy.

You have to finish See in the Dark Quest to see them, do not start to collect them before finishing Finding Old Friends. They are not random,
they are one-time find. Start new character to recreate them for challenge and trophy.

Strongholds in Monument Watch
Strongholds are some of the most challenging expeditions for Freelancers. These threats to Bastion are serious enough that they require a focused team of Freelancers working together in order to succeed. Strongholds cannot be played privately.

Freeplay
Start a Freeplay game by selecting a Strider icon. Freeplay allows you to explore the world. Freeplay sessions are always public. You can play with friends by inviting them to a Squad on the Squad screen.

The Iron Serpent
The Iron Serpent (the colloquial name for the canyon) is home to the largest Shaper ruins in the entire region. Arcanist records show that the long serpentine arms were once the source of a great disruption in the area, upsetting gravity itself, and turning what was a flatland into canyons and cliffs. The Monument in the center of the canyon is currently active, though not cataclysmic. Arcanists and lancers alike have kept a constant surveillance on the area, ready to alert the nearby • settlement of Fort Tarsis, should danger become apparent.
