Five wagons grope blindly for the path on a starless night, their master glancing ever upward to the skies for assurance that he is on the right course, a dim lantern his only protection against the encroaching darkness.
The caravan carries travelers bound for the frontier hamlet of Gilded Vale, you among them, where a local lord has offered land and wealth to settlers from abroad looking for a fresh start.
You have taken suddenly ill, sweating and shivering, and one of the other travelers signals for the caravan master to stop on your behalf. He pulls up just in time to avoid plowing into the trunk of a fallen tree that bars the way ahead. You will go no further tonight.
QUEST: The Gilded Vale The Gilded Vale
Gilded Vale is said to be one of the most prosperous villages in the Dyrwood, full of opportunities for work and wealth. I was told they're offering land to new settlers.
NPC: NPC: Calisca Follower
"Alternatively you can kill everyone in the caravan to go on to the cave, this is very difficult and all it gets you is a point in cruelty as you can't even stop to loot the bodies before the storm hits. The quest to get berries autocompletes. Not really a good idea from a RP or a strategic point of view but its a nice Easter egg that is built in, dont like tutorials? Kill everyone and bypass it :P"
Here you start your adventure.
NPC: Caravan Master Odema
QUEST: A Moment's Respite A Moment's Respite
A sudden sickness has come over me. The caravan master has urged me to make a remedy before my condition worsens.
Collect some springberries to concoct a remedy.
Odema suggested that a certain tea, brewed with local berries, should cure me. Sparfel has gone to fetch water from the river, but it falls to me to gather some springberries. Odema says they grow on a distinctive bush.
NPC: Heodan Merchant
ITEM: Springberry Plant Odema for A Moment's Respite Quest
Return to Odema (01)
I've found the springberry plant Odema was looking for. So long as Sparfel's fetched that water, Odema should be able to get started on that remedy for me.
Sparfel seems to be in no hurry to gather water. I should go look for him myself.
ITEM: Sparfel's Waterskins
Pick up waterskin.
Ambush - kill warriors
Reach the camp.
We have been ambushed by Glanfathan warriors at the river. Sparfel has been killed, and if the screams from camp are any indication, we aren't the only ones under attack.
