Thorhild is certain that her Cultivators are somewhere in the Fort.

Butch says that the Cultivators aren't lazy, just unhappy with their pay. He thinks there's no point talking to Thorhild about it, because she won't listen. Worse, Thorhild doesn't know how to explain the work to the Cultivators, so they don't understand it. They're refusing to work as things stand so I need to talk to Thorhild about it.

Don't give Thorhild the money.

Thorhild says she doesn't have enough shards to pay the new Cultivators more. I should talk to Fenris if I don't want to pay the increase from my own pocket.

Fenris says he can't change the wages. Each of the three Paladins has received their share of shards. Scrappy is already underpaid, so my only hope is to convince Tilas, the alchemist Paladin, to give up some of his shards.

💬 "I need a few shards for the Cultivators ..."

💬 "I was hoping YOU ..."

💬 "And you think his shards ..."

Tilas is not prepared to give up a single shard but thinks his assistant, Raik, is overpaid. If I can convince Raik to take a pay cut, Tilas won't insist on keeping the shards and I can ask Fenris to give them to Thorhild. I can find Raik in the tavern within the Fort.

Raik's Solution Mission Walkthrough

Raik won't be getting paid anymore. I can tell Thorhild that I've solved her problem. And I suppose Tilas will want to know that his assistant won't be showing up for work anymore.

I told Tilas that Raik won't be coming back. As far as he's concerned, his assistant's wage can be divided amongst the Cultivators.

Thorhild now has the money to pay the Cultivators a better wage. I should tell Butch.

Butch promised me that he and the other Cultivators would go back to work in the fields. He wants me to talk to Thorhild again on their behalf. I should go and see her.
