You can enter here from Underbelly 20 if you solve task for Mapper and ask Stichus Automaton to dig tunnel to this location.

You can also enter here from Caravanserai 14 after you open trap doors from here.

Cave of Last Words is location for finishing The Cold, Calculating Jack Quest.

Matkina This woman's skin is white - the color of alabaster or fresh ivory. Flat black eyes surrounded by sharply pointed features stare coldly at you. She wears jet-black hair cut straight at the shoulders. Her clothes are functional and drab; her cloak is fastened by a necklace of five canisters, each of different shape.

She turns a black device over and over in her hands.

Talk to her till:

I heard you might know who can repair a device I found in the Reef, something called a resonance chamber.

Matkina says that she knows the name of the castoff I'm seeking. Or at least, she *used* to know his name, but her mind was damaged by an enemy. Now she has asked me to enter a Mere that belongs to someone named Tash - probably the very person who injured her.

Inside this Mere, she wants me to find out what I can about a musical instrument called a jahk. She thinks the jahk is the key to repairing her shattered mind and recovering her memory.

I'll do it. I'll enter the Mere for you.

Matkina don't know if you meant to do that, but you've done more than your part of the deal. You asked about the resonance chamber. Mazzof's the guy you want. He can fix anything. He might have even helped design the chamber you're talking about. Your best bet is to look for him in the castoff sanctuary - Miel Avest.

The Valley of Dead Heroes. There's a hidden portal in the Necropolis. Also memorize this." She writes the numbers, '3-4-3-1,' down on a slip of paper, holds it in front of your eyes for several seconds, then crumples it in her hand. "It's a code. It'll make sense when you get to the Necropolis

While I was in Tash's Mere, I somehow managed to change Matkina's past, and her memories have all been restored. She told me that the castoff I'm seeking is named Mazzof. He's a master artificer, and I should be able to find him at a secret refuge called Miel Avest.

On the Builder's Trail Seek passage to the Valley of Dead Heroes

I've learned the name of the castoff who helped build the resonance chamber. He's called Mazzof, a talented builder and artificer. I hope to find him in Miel Avest, a refuge of sorts for my castoff 'siblings.'

Miel Avest is hidden from prying eyes. It can only be accessed from the First Castoff's Tomb in the Valley of Dead Heroes.

I can hire an airship at the Caravanserai to take me to the Valley.

You can now invite Matkina to be your companion.
