There are 15 Butterfly locations in Hogwarts Legacy.
You can start searching for butterflies after Potions Class, go to Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade and talk to Clementine Willardsey to start the Follow the Butterflies Side Quest. You need to find the Butterflies in the Forbidden Forest and follow them to the treasure chest using the Revelio spell.
You can now repeat this action with the other Butterflies. The Butterfly icon only appears on the in-game map when you're close, with Revelio helping you find it. At the end, follow the butterfly to find a hidden chest.
