Vocations - Character Classes

Vocation in Dragon's Dogma 2 is the equivalent of a character class, profession or specialization known from other RPG games.

Vocation determines the character's capabilities, how he develops, fighting styles and the weapons he can use.

Distribute Vocation among the members of your Party to properly balance its capabilities and match it to the gameplay style you prefer.

You can compose your party in any way, choosing to play with 4 warriors or 4 mages, but it is obvious that the source of success is a Balanced Party tailored to the needs of a given fight or task.

There are four categories of Vocations (character classes) in Dragon's Dogma 2:

  • Starting Vocations - Fighter, Archer, Thief and Mage - available to both Arisen and Pawns;
  • Advanced Vocations - Warrior and Sorcerer- available to both Arisen and Pawns;
  • Hybrid Vocations - Magick Archer, Mystic Spearhand and Trickster - available to Arisen only;
  • Warfarer - special Vocation for Arisen.

Starting Vocations

Starting Vocations in Dragon's Dogma 2 correspond to the basic character class archetypes known from RPG games and you can assign them to both Arisen and Pawns.

Fighter - Dragon's Dogma 2

Fighter

Fighter Vocation uses Melee Combat and gives Medium Damage with High Defense.

Weapons: One Handed Sword and Shield

He physically attacks opponents while protecting himself and other team members with a shield. He plays the role of Tank.

Weapons: Bow and Arrows

Advanced Vocations

Advanced Vocations are advanced versions of Starting Vocations that you have to unlock. They give characters weapons that deal more damage than their base versions, and you can assign them to both Arisen and Pawns.

Warrior - Dragon's Dogma 2

Warrior

Warrior Vocation specializes in dealing high damage at short distances, uses Direct Melee Combat, Strong Single Blows, no Shield.

Weapons: Two Handed Greatsword or Hammers.

Warrior is an evolved Fighter with a stronger attack and weaker defense. Later can attack multiple targets.

Hybrid Vocations are the equivalent of combined character classes, Hybrid Vocations are reserved exclusively for Arisen only. To learn them, you need to find the right Trainer and complete a task for him.

Warfarer

Warfarer is the equivalent of the "jack of all trades" character class.

He can use a combination of any three weapons available in the game to other Vocations, meaning in practice he can use a mixed set of skills reserved for other character classes.

The price he has to pay for this is the fact that in each of the skills he uses, he is weaker than a character focusing on one Vocation.
