Dragon's Dogma 2 Game Guide

Dragon's Dogma 2, developed by Capcom, is a single-player Action RPG game. The game is set in a magical fantasy world related to the Middle Ages. Its plot takes place in a vast open world, which is an alternative version of the universe known from the original Dragon's Dogma game released in 2012, but in a parallel timeline.

The release date of Dragon's Dogma 2 is March 22, 2024 for PC Windows (Steam), Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5.

You are Arisen, its is your Story

In Dragon's Dogma 2, you play again as a character called Arisen, a hero marked by the Dragon and whose ultimate destiny is to defeat this dragon. The dragon steals the hero's heart, connecting with Arisen in an unbreakable bond that accompanies the hero throughout the game's plot, as the character develops and learns new skills, until the inevitable confrontation between Arisen and the Dragon.

Arisen is the character you fully control, he is your hero.

You create the Arisen character yourself at the beginning of the game, having full freedom in choosing his appearance, as well as freedom in developing his skills during the game.

The Arisen you create remains your character until the end of the game, although you can change his skills or specialization as needed.

The main plot of the game will guide you through Dragon's Dogma 2, but there are also many side quests that you can find during your exploration. These are Pawns, your companions will often help you find and complete Side Quests.

World of Dragon's Dogma 2

The world of Dragon's Dogma 2 is not a continuation of the story known from Dragon's Dogma, but its alternative version set in parallel time. We will find many common elements known from the original, but the world itself will be different and the available area for exploration is almost four times larger than the original land.

The diverse world you explore in Dragon's Dogma 2 is divided into the Vermund Kingdom of Humans, Battahl Kingdom of Beastren and Sacred Arbor Home of the Elves.

Pawns: Dragon's Dogma 2 Companions

Dragon's Dogma 2 is a single-player game, but this does not mean that you will be lonely during the game, your exploration companions will be Pawns.

As Arisen, you have your own four-person party and your companions will be Pawns, i.e. characters controlled by the game's AI, having their own skills and features. Pawns are your AI Companions.

AI-controlled Pawns are one of the most important elements of the gameplay system in Dragon's Dogma 2. There are two types of Pawns: Main Pawn and Support Pawn.

Pawns have their own characteristics such as Experience Level, Vocation (character class), Pawn Specializations (skills), Pawn Quest (task specific to a given Pawn) and other features.

Vocation in Dragon's Dogma 2 is the equivalent of a character class, profession or specialization known from other RPG games.

Vocation determines the character's capabilities, how he develops, fighting styles and the weapons he can use.

There are four categories of Vocations (character classes) in Dragon's Dogma 2:

  • Starting Vocations - Fighter, Archer, Thief and Mage - available to both Arisen and Pawns;
  • Advanced Vocations - Warrior and Sorcerer- available to both Arisen and Pawns;

NPC Characters in Dragon's Dogma 2

NPC Characters in Dragon's Dogma 2 fulfill an important role in the game's Storyline, just as they should in a real RPG game.

You will meet more or less significant characters, guided by their own reasons, trying to influence the decisions you make in the game world.

Your behavior in the world of Dragon's Dogma 2 affects the attitude of NPC Characters towards Arisen and the goals he pursues.

Not all of them are beautiful, idealistic people trying to help you in your missions, you will also encounter insidious and diabolical individuals who want to use you for their own purposes.

Welcome to the world of intrigue, compromise and friendship.
