The Beast of Balaur Walkthrough

"The Beast of Balaur" is a short side quest in the Boar's Back region of The Blood of Dawnwalker. It hides solid lore and valuable loot behind a seemingly straightforward task. You can pick up the quest by talking to Ciprian in Parlita or by simply exploring the base of Mount Balaur.

The setup is simple enough. You need to track down Iancu, who went missing during an expedition up the dark mountain. Inside the cave, you will find his corpse and face off against the titular monster, The Beast of Balaur.

This is where things get interesting. Climb to the top of the cave at night to reach a hidden section. Here you will discover the secret hideout where Brencis planned his invasion of Vale Sangora. Keep in mind that entering this area raises your Infamy.

Rewards:

• Phial of Brencis's Blood (raises your corruption level and grants the Piercing Shriek Vampiric Power)
• Gladius Legendary Shortsword
• Scribble-Covered Map (shows Brencis's invasion plans)
• Unholy Fervour Manual
• Recipe for Vrakhiri Attunement
• Isbrand's Letter
• Faded Orders
• A Letter to Iancu
• Pristine Greatsword

Quest Lore & Objectives

The mountains surrounding Parlita are known to be dangerous, some even say they're haunted. People have kept disappearing there over the years, and almost everyone knows someone who went there and never returned.

• Find Iancu
• Follow the tracks
• Go back to Ciprian

The most recent missing person was a man named Iancu. I found his body and told his friend Ciprian what happened. Ciprian was devastated, but at least now he knows the truth - and I hope one day he'll be able to move on. For now, though, all I can do is let him grieve.
