You can open Gate of Parched Hopes in Crossroads: Elvhenan's Haven in Chapter 8 after you kill The Disciple-in-Ichor in Hossberg Wetlands and take his Champion Essence.
Inside Gate of Parched Hopes:
- Entering gate you will finish "Gate of Parched Hopes" Quest
- You have to kill Slaughter of the Pillars.
- Killing Slaughter of the Pillars will give you Revenant Essence for "The Heart of Corruption" Crossroads Region Quest
- As a bonus you will be able to open Timelost Hoard Chest in which you will find a unique Weapon or Equipment depending on the character class you have chosen for Rook.
- Small Chest with Focus of the Veil Ring.

Hossberg Wetlands - Unseal the path to Parched Hopes.
When the gods use blighted roots to block off eluvians in the Crossroads, the team must defeat their champions to break the spell.
The gods are slowing down the team in the Crossroads by magically sealing off paths leading to more eluvians. This magic is tied to the gods' champions, powerful entities roaming the mortal world. To travel freely, the team must defeat these champions and use their essence to break the seals.
