Stronger Than Achilles Walkthrough
The "Stronger Than Achilles" quest wraps up the Anca storyline and serves as the climax of her romance arc. It starts immediately after you finish "Where Old Devils Lie" in the ancient ruins in St. Tyna's Grove.
Your primary goal is to complete the trials and secure the Font of Life, which lets you regenerate health while in human form. Your secondary objective is to confess your feelings to Anca and complete the romance. Keep your tone supportive with her throughout the mission.
The quest is straightforward but fairly long, involving a solid amount of dungeon crawling and combat. A few choices matter, and you will need to solve a platforming puzzle to cross a collapsed bridge.
- You start exactly where you left off in "Where Old Devils Lie," right at the entrance to the next section of the underground.
- Push forward through the corridors and take out any enemies in your path.
- You will eventually reach a circular dead-end room with an Idol in the center.
- [Inspect] the Idol. Stick your hand inside it and endure the pain. This is part of the trial.
- When the "Time to Decide" prompt pops up, quickly pick [keep still] to open the locked door.
- Talk to Anca to advance the romance.
- Keep moving through the maze, checking side passages and clearing out enemies.
- Eventually, you will run into a Fallen Hero. Defeat him.
- You will reach a collapsed bridge over a chasm, triggering another conversation with Anca. You find out she is considering using the Font of Life on herself. Don't make a big deal out of this and avoid accusing her of lying.
- This conversation is the critical moment for the romance. Make sure you select [I'd do anything for you.] and [I love you.]
- Now it is time to solve the collapsed bridge puzzle. Head to the right and jump to the middle island. Walk around it following the blood trails on the ground, then jump across to the outer ledge with the stairs on the opposite side.
- Follow the outer ring of the room and squeeze through the gap on the far side.
- Go right and unlock the path for Anca.
- Head back to the massive doors in the side corridor and force them open together with Anca.
- Search the statue room and head down through the hole in the corner wall.
- You finally reach a room with an obelisk in the center. This is the second-to-last room before the Font of Life. Check the obelisk.
- Use Astral Communion on the obelisk. If you started "Where Old Devils Lie" and went straight into "Stronger Than Achilles," it should still be daytime, allowing you to use this Witchcraft Ability.
- Deal with the swarm of Guardians of the Font and loot their bodies.
- The doors to the Font of Life room will open. Head inside. Check the wall paintings and open the two chests against the walls to get the Champion's Vambraces, the Soul Stigma Manual, and the Darkbane Amulet.
- [Inspect] the blood chalice in the middle of the room.
- The following conversation is a major decision point. Do not let Anca use the Font of Life on herself. Choose [If it's alright with you - I'll use it.] and drink the blood from the chalice. Follow up with [Thank you, Anca.]
- You receive the highly valuable Font of Life Perk, which grants passive Regeneration of Human Health.
- Select [Let's go back to the inn.]
- You return to the Crossroads Inn to wrap up the romance with Anca.
- Choose [There's a conversation we need to finish.] and [I meant what I said.]
- Pick [Screw decency. I want you, too.] to trigger the final romance scene. If you want to back out of the relationship instead, choose [I guess you're right ... Let's be friends, then.]
- Afterwards, talk to Anca and try to comfort her.
This concludes the "Stronger Than Achilles" quest. It also marks the final end of the Anca questline and her romance options.
Quest Lore & Objectives
The Font of Life is deeper down the ruined complex - we know that for sure now. We also know that in order to reach it, we'll have to pass some sort of trials.

We found the Font ... And it looks like it was fed by the blood of fallen heroes. Not what we expected - but I need every possible advantage to win with Brencis, so I decided to use it. Felt vile - but I'm stronger, now, no doubt, and my conscience was stained to begin with.
