Echoes of Silenced Bells Walkthrough
"Echoes of Silenced Bells" is a part of the Anca questline. It leads to a romance with Anca and earns you the "Font of Life", which regenerates Human Health outside of combat. You definitely want to get this done.
You pick up the "Echoes of Silenced Bells" quest early in the Prologue when you open the gate in Laslea. The main chunk of the quest happens much later when you reach the Crossroads Inn in St. Tyna's Grove.
This quest involves:
- Exploring St. Tyna's Convent and uncovering its secret.
- Finding the Shrine inside the Convent.
- Completing the "Most Precious Thing" side quest.
- Collecting several Manuals.
- Defeating Leonica and breaking the spell around the Convent.
- Helping Anca recover forbidden books from the library.
- Letting Anca finish her ritual at the Convent.
Starting Echoes of Silenced Bells in Crossroads Inn
- Talk to Anca at the Crossroads Inn and head to the gates of St. Tyna's Convent with her.
- Open the gates. Defeat and inspect the undead Nuns.
- Search the refectory building. Grab any items, find the Shrine, pick up the Monastery map, check out the area from the balcony, and talk to Anca.
- Your job is to clear a path to the library for Anca. You have a few options here. You can ring the tower bells to draw the Nuns to the Chapel, but the easiest method is using Brencis's Soldiers trapped in the Infirmary.
- Don't explore the entire Convent just yet. Instead, cross the wall on the left from the balcony toward the Infirmary.
- You'll find a window on the first floor of the Infirmary where you can talk to Brencis's Soldiers. This triggers the "Most Precious Thing" quest. Agree to work with them. They want you to bring them St. Tyna's necklace.
- The necklace isn't in St. Tyna's tomb in the Chapel like you might expect. One of the Nuns took it to the quarters.
- All the doors in the Convent are locked. You need the Monastery Keys quest item, located in a small shed on the opposite side of the courtyard.
- Walk around the Convent along the walls, enter the small shed next to the Chapel, and grab the key.
- You can now search the quarters in the western section. You'll find The Relic of St. Tyna quest item inside one of them. Loot the rest of the items in the quarters.
- Head back to the soldiers in the Infirmary and hand over the Relic. The amulet is nothing special and won't be useful later. If you prefer, you can keep it and kill the soldiers instead. The path to the library is now open.
- Return to Anca and guide her through the library. Check all the containers and bookcases to find 4 unique Manuals.
- At the end, look for a secret passage behind a sliding bookcase leading down to the Catacombs.
- Make your way through the Catacombs with Anca. Grab all the loot and clear out any enemies.
- You'll find Leonica at the end. You can't help her, so you have to kill her. Loot her body for the exit key, Leonica's Ring, and the Unholy Vitality Manual. Check the nearby chest for another Manual.
- Let Anca examine the documents. The next choice is important. Pick [This won't end well.] and [There. Take them. (1)] to hand the documents over to Anca.
- Anca finishes the ritual.
- Choose [Go without me. I'll join you at the inn later.]
- That wraps up the "Echoes of Silenced Bells" quest. You are now free to explore the rest of St. Tyna's Convent.
- You will receive the "Between the Words" quest, which is the next step in the Anca questline.

Anca claims the forbidden books held at St. Tyna's contain ancient wisdom I need in order to defeat the vrakhiri. Problem is, the convent isn't the safe haven it used to be.

We learned that the curse hanging over St. Tyna's was brought down by one Leonica, Anca's old friend. She was trying to use magic to save the nuns from the plague ... And much to her later chagrin, she succeeded.
There was no talking with Leonica - but the notes we found in the catacombs contained instructions on how to undo the damage she'd done. Anca insisted that she needed to follow through with Leonica's plan ... And seeing how important it was to her, I didn't stop her. Time will tell whether it was the right choice.
